Who said that the mother-to-be is the only one who can have fun at a baby shower?
If you’re throwing a shower, why not spice things up with some games. Your guests will love being involved and entertained, and it’s a great way for everyone to get to know each other. Of course, the highlight of the party is when the future mom opens her gifts, but a little playtime before and after the main event can only make it more enjoyable.
So give a few of these games a whirl at your next shower to guarantee a fun filled party.
The Parents Name Game
Guests take letters from the mother’s and father’s first names and create a name for baby. Whoever thinks up the funniest name or the most names wins.
Guess Mommy’s Girth Game
This one’s a favorite (for the guests, but not mommy!) Each guest guesses what the circumference of the mother-to-be’s girth is and writes it down. Once all guesses are in, mom gets measured and the prize goes to the guest who had the closest guess.
Who’s that Baby Game
Another favorite at showers, this game requires that all invited guests bring a baby picture of themselves to the shower. The host numbers the photos and displays them on a board along with the names of all the partygoers. The guest who correctly matches the most names with the pictures wins the game.
Pass the Present Game
Similar to musical chairs, this game involves a gift wrapped in several layers of wrapping paper. Once the music starts, the gift is passed from guest to guest until the music stops. The guest holding the gift at that time removes one layer of wrapping paper. The game continues this way until the final layer of wrapping paper is removed. The guest who removed it gets to keep the gift.
Name the Baby Food Game
As yummy as it sounds…
Remove the labels from several baby food jars and number their lids. Pass each jar around and have the guests sample the contents and guess what it is. The guest with the most correct guesses wins.
