Once upon a time, traditional gifts given to the male side of the wedding party included pocket watches, monogrammed handkerchiefs or flasks. But, with the current fashion of customizing one’s wedding, why not extend that trend to include unique gifts for the guys who’ll be standing up for you. Give them a gift that they’ll enjoy and appreciate long after your wedding day.
To choose unique gifts, focus on the hobbies or personalities of your groomsmen. And don’t feel that you’re restricted to buying all the guys the same thing. For sports nuts, gift selections are wide open, from tickets to a favorite sporting event to stainless steel golf tees engraved with the recipient’s initials.
Maybe one or more of your groomsmen is an avid reader. Purchase a particular book that you know he’s interested in. Write a short note on the inside cover to memorialize it for eternity. Subscribe to a favorite magazine for a gift that keeps giving for a year or more.
Another thoughtful, personalized gift is an engraved tie clip or tie bar, with or without matching cuff links. For the man who travels a lot for business, how about a monogrammed travel bag, complete with all the necessary sundry travel items?
The gift possibilities are endless. Remember, these guys are your friends and you’ve probably known them forever. So just think about that longevity and you’ll surely come up with plenty ideas for excellent gifts.
