Bold, bright colors are in this year so why not choose one of the boldest colors going for your wedding color scheme. That’s right – pick red!
Traditionally, the color red blends nicely with autumn or winter weddings, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use it for your spring or summer affair. The key to incorporating such a strong color into your scheme is to not overdo it. Select five elements of your wedding, such as invitations, flowers, cake, favors, and attire and experiment with adding red.
For example, let’s start with your invitations, since they’re first to introduce to your guests the style and mood of your wedding. How much red do you want to use? A lot or a little? LCI Paper has a variety of invitations for you to choose from in gorgeous shades of red on their Shop Invitations By Color page.
For a dainty, floral pattern consider Cherry Blossom Floral (shown below, top left). The pretty floral design borders this heavyweight panel card and combined with a boldly lined red envelope, makes for a strong statement. If you prefer a traditional look, LCI’s Royal Duchess (top right) might be to your liking. For a vibrant and contemporary layered card, consider Tropical Tairei Red (bottom left). This invitation includes silver-flecked Tairei Paper to print 2-up invitations with a free printing template. Also, consider combining red with colors other than white or cream. How about gold or silver? LCI Paper’s Gold Rose Pochette (bottom right) mixes these colors stunningly.
With so many types of red flowers you’ll have plenty to choose from, starting of course, with the traditional rose. The only problem you might encounter could be availability or cost. If this occurs, opt for neutral white flowers displayed in red vases or containers.
Your cake will be easiest to decorate. Your wedding cake specialist only has to mix the color. Adorned with red flowers, stripes, or polka dots, your wedding cake can delightfully display the color of the day.
Depending on the favors you select, you could package them in red or decorate them with name tags or ribbon to promote your color scheme.
A beautiful red sash would be eye-catching against the backdrop of your white gown. The groom and groomsmen could incorporate red into their attire too…cufflinks, maybe, or ties? You’ll probably have the most fun and flexibility including red in your bridesmaids’ dresses.
However you decide to “paint your wedding day red,” make sure it’s your way for a fabulous event!
