Scrapbookers love the holiday season because it creates so many wonderful memories worth preserving. Likewise, they love using vellum because of its beauty and versatility; it’s definitely become a favorite. With the colors indigenous to this special time of year – red, green, silver, gold, and blue – why not select some vellum in any of these hues for use in your holiday memory creations?

Try showcasing a special holiday photo by matting it with vellum. Layer it with card stock or printed paper. For an even greater effect, tear the vellum mat for a soft, gentle look.

Make a holiday scene come to life in your scrapbook with different colors of vellum - green Christmas trees, white snowflakes or snowmen, a cloudless, blue winter sky - just picture it in your mind and let it play out on the page!

For all of those Christmas mementos you want to keep safe, try making a vellum pocket on a scrapbook page. It’s simple: fold a sheet of vellum in half and attach it with adhesive to a heavyweight card stock. Depending on the color and transparency of the vellum, you’ll produce either a light and airy or slightly shrouded effect. You choose the mood you want to present.

Vellum also makes great tracing paper. Maybe you received a card whose wording and script you adored and you’d like to reproduce it on a scrapbook page. Place a colored vellum sheet over it and trace away. Then store the card in a vellum pocket!
